Colin's stag
Created October 21, 2007, last updated October 21, 2007 .
After a typically rubbish English summer (ie enough sunshine to tan your little finger) we were treated to decent weather in Nice, France. The occasion was Colin's stag weekend which involved a group of twelve heading to the coast to eat, drink and be merry which is exactly what the doctor ordered! Friday afternoon found us throwing a disc around on the beach before heading into the touristy old town for evening beers.
We were staying at the Hotel Roosevelt which was very well located, and very affordable.
Saturday involved a trip to the local village of St Paul de Vence, a picturesque walled town filled with art galleries. We wandered through the cobbled streets before heading to Colombe D'or, a famous restaurant with a priceless collection of artwork donated by previous guests including Picasso and Matisse!
Following a long lunch in the sun we had a wine tasting to start the evening, then we headed for the centre of town to watch England beat France in the rugby World Cup. All in all a very enjoyable day!
